Gordon Wise

Gordon Wise joined Curtis Brown in 2005 after starting in the book trade in 1989 and spending nearly fifteen years as an editor and publishing director at companies including Pan Macmillan and John Murray/Hachette.

He has served as Agent of the Year at the British Book Awards, President of the Association of Authors' Agents, joint Managing Director of the Curtis Brown Books Department, and featured in The Bookseller’s list of the 100 most influential people.

Known as a trusted collaborator and developer of original ideas with strengths in reinvention, brand management and editor‑writer matchmaking, he works closely with Elliot Prior and focuses in fiction on literary writers who cross over to wider readerships and on crime writers.
