Sarah Smith began her publishing career in 2008 working for Algonquin Books in Chapel Hill, NC as an editorial intern.

Soon thereafter, she moved to New York City to work at Trident Media Group as an assistant in the literary and book-to-film departments.

She joined the David Black Agency in 2012.

A native of Atlanta, Sarah has a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with highest honors.

For three years, Sarah curated the weekly True Story: Nonfiction at KGB reading series at KGB Bar in the East Village.

She lives with her husband and two sons in Brooklyn.
