Erzsi Deak

A California native, Erzsi Deàk brings 40 years of experience connecting creators and companies to make things happen.

She specializes in English-language children’s literature along with projects inside and outside of publishing in the US, UK and other countries where English is spoken.

Before founding Hen&ink, Erzsi ran the international arm of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) for ten years, developing and mentoring writers, illustrators and publishing programs in 28 countries.

She founded and organized the French chapter of the SCBWI and the SCBWI Bologna Conference, and was awarded the SCBWI Member of the Year in both 1999 and 2008.

Since 2009, she has scouted English-language properties for French children’s imprints Seuil and La Martinière, part of the Média-Participations group.
