Prior to working in publishing, she earned a PhD and Pitt Public Health and was a professor researching US health care policy.
Mara believes stories make us who we are and that everyone deserves a chance to write their own.
In her free time, she writes fantasy novels, watches a shocking amount of figure skating, roots for the Washington Nationals and Georgetown Hoyas, and daydreams about petting dogs.
