She worked as an assistant at Elaine Markson and Curtis Brown and became the youngest editor at Scribner’s.

In 1988 she began her eponymous literary agency.

She seeks excellent prose that feeds her curiosity especially on geopolitics climate activism current affairs and stories set in places foreign to her.
