Sharlene was raised in Connecticut and after attending college got the entrepreneurial bug.
She was recognized with the title of Entrepreneur of the Year by the Connecticut Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneur Magazine for the first business she created and was honored with the Spirited Woman Award in New York City in 1987 by Sherry Lansing for supporting women in the workplace.
She sold her company when she moved to California in 1990 and spent several years at key creative positions in the entertainment industry while raising her two children.
In 2003 she formed her own literary agency.
