Melanie Figueroa

Melanie joined Root Literary in 2018 as the first full-time assistant on staff, where she worked closely with the founder and other agents to manage growing client lists and build much of the infrastructure and systems that still run the business.

In 2019, she was promoted to literary agent.

She wants to work with stories that create and sustain life-long readers, specifically books that make her sigh with contentment, teach something new, or offer delight in the unexpected.

These are stories that stay with you, and she aims to help give them to readers by lifting up the voices of talented and hard-working creatives.
