Andrew began his publishing career on the retail side and moved into editorial roles after graduating in 1988 with a BA in English and Political Science and attending the Radcliffe Publishing Course.
He worked at Simon & Schuster, Warner Books, Donald I Fine, Inc, and The Berkley Publishing Group—editing, acquiring, and managing sizable lists—then worked as a freelance editor for publishers and agencies before becoming a literary agent in September 1993.
He founded The Zack Company, Inc (originally The Andrew Zack Literary Agency) in March 1996, served as Chairperson of the AAR Royalty Committee, and is an avid cyclist who has raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
