Marrissa Childs

Marrissa double‑majored in Professional Writing and Creative Writing at the University of Central Arkansas and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Chapman University.

She has led the literary innovation team JourneyWriter to help address literacy challenges, contributed to Publisher’s Weekly as a writer and BookLife extern, and works with the New York nonprofit Inkluded Inc.

to introduce young BiPOC publishing professionals to the industry.

Now beginning agenting with Ladderbird, she brings publishing experience and a focus on detailed narratives, intelligent characters, and stories about found family.

She enjoys sweet iced tea, pasta, and watching foreign dramas.
