Emily moved to New York City from Toronto with dual citizenship and a dream to work in children’s publishing, became an editor at Hyperion Books for Children, then spent six-and-a-half years as an agent and rights director at Pippin Properties before joining Folio Jr as a partner and literary agent.

She represents New York Times bestselling and award‑winning authors and focus on negotiating strong deals and helping clients publish enduring children's books.
